Polar bear numbers at record high! Report in International Business Times

                    The US Fish and Wildlife Service estimates that the polar bear population is currently about 20 000/25 000 which is up from 5000/6000 in the 1950`s and 1960`s.  A 2002 US Geological Survey of wildlife in the Arctic Refuge Coastal Plain noted that the polar bear population may be near an historic high!.
